We are offering discount ride programs for school groups as well as tours of the Carousel. For more information, visit the Field Trips page.

DISABILITIES

People with disabilities are welcome to ride the carousel at no cost. A Carousel Cares Complimentary Pass can be picked up at the Gift Shop.

​

We are seeking monthly sponsors of $300 to directly cover the costs associated with providing free rides to persons with disabilities. Sponsors may remain anonymous or will be featured for the assigned month of their sponsorship on our website and social media accounts. SENSORY HOUR

We believe that Salem's Carousel is a place for all to come to and feel welcomed and valued. To further this idea, starting February 2023, we will offer a Sensory Hour the first Monday of each month for the first hour of opening (10am-11am). During this hour, we will turn off the music (and shut off Carousel lights if requested) to provide a quiet and calming ride experience for guests with Autism or other sensory sensitivities. MILITARY & PUBLIC SERVICE

Active or retired military, public service or emergency response personnel receives 5 free rides upon visit on any of these national holidays (Memorial Day, Remembrance Day and Veterans Day) + Receive 10% off merchandise in our Gift Gallery year-round!

All guests are asked to acknowledge all rules posted. If you have any questions or need any additional accommodations,

please ask one of our friendly staff or volunteers on duty to assist you.

 VISITING THE CAROUSEL

A PLACE OF SAFETY & INCLUSION

All are welcomed to the Carousel. Please treat others including our facility, staff and volunteers with respect. We have the right to dismiss individuals from the premises or refuse service to anyone displaying inappropriate, harmful, disruptive, or suspicious behavior.

​

MEDIA POLICY
Salem's Riverfront Carousel reserves the right to use any photography/video taken on the premises, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photography/video. Visitors and activities may be included in future media, social media, or marketing materials. With admission into the Carousel, you consent to the recording of photographs and/or video of yourself, your dependents, and accompanying group. You grant the Carousel all rights to use these images for educational, promotional, advertising, and other purposes which advance the overall mission of the Carousel to "bring education and artistry together". All rights to the photographs and video belong to the Carousel. We never use identifying information with a child’s image. Please notify the Gift Gallery if you do not consent to this policy. Security cameras are stationed throughout the Carousel building's interior and exterior, for the purpose of visitor safety and the protection of Carousel property.

Persons who are pregnant or have physical disabilities should evaluate this ride for potential risks before entering. Salem's Riverfront Carousel is not liable for consequences that may occur from riding the carousel.

​

Clothing and footwear are required to ride the carousel.

​

Children under 42" tall must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older). 

​

Balloons, drinks or food items are not allowed on the carousel at any time.

​

Persons who are visibly ill or under the influence of drugs or alcohol are not permitted to ride. The operator has the right to refuse entrance to the carousel.

​

Walking on the ride platform while the ride is in motion is prohibited.

Rules for riding the Carousel. Do double riding. No side saddle riding. No riding backwards. No food or drink on the carousel. No strollers on the carousel. Adult may stand next to the child during the ride. Seatbelt required. Leashed pet allowed in wagon only. Wheelchair accessible. Photos allowed. Adults may ride with a baby in a carrier. Must be at least 42 inches tall to ride without assistance of an adult. 250 pound weight limit riding on carousel animals.
